Stone Cleaner Easy Peel Poultice

Poultice cleaner

Is a specialist product is used and favoured by many conservation architects in restoration building projects

The choice to use a poultice cleaner is normally specified for internal cleaning tasks where the use of water, dust producing cleaning methods or chemical cleaning cannot be tolerated due to the sensitivity or nature of application.

Poultice cleaner are often referred to as a latex emulsion cleaners .it is the best stone cleaning products available ,highly effective low impact stone cleaner .the poultice self vulcanising paste  or gel produces excellent results for brick masonry cleaning and stone cleaning applications . This water-free cleaning system can be used for the safe removal of dust, soot, nicotine residues and other unwanted soiling on interior surfaces including walls, ceilings, floors, stucco, natural stone, marble cleaner, concrete, brick cleaning , render, gypsum sculptures, polished wood, synthetic materials, etc.

Note: poultice cleaning should be performed by trained experienced personnel who understand the application process of using poultice cleaning techniques under the guidance of the conservation architect managing the restoration project after small test area sampling has taken place

Property profile

Poultice cleaning is an environmentally self vulcanising cleaning paste on a natural raw material base. The fresh product vulcanises by drying into an elastic rubber with good soil bind-ing capacity. Poultice cleaner does not contain any organic solvents, surface active agents or inorganic salts.

How to effectively clean stone using poultice cleaner

The A-components in the brick and stone cleaner poultice programme differ in their reactivity and compatibility with auxiliary agents.

Poultice cleaner Type I is a modified latex emulsion that is always used without an additive.

After activation with the B-component, Poultice Types II, III and V contain varying concentrations of complexing agents and cleaning intensifiers that either volatilize during vulcanisation or are bound into the dry poultice film.

A contamination of the substrate with these substances is therefore not possible.

How to use a poultice cleaner to remove pollutants from sensitive stone and brick masonry surfaces

All surfaces that are not to be treated, varnished areas, sensitive metals, etc. should be carefully covered with PE sheets before work with poultice cleaning begins. The substrate to be cleaned must be dry and free of dust and loose deposits by brushing and hovering surface off first.

Stir the poultice cleaner well, (add the B-component if required,) mix thoroughly and then apply to the substrate using a suitable tool covering the entire surface. Fill undercut areas and contours thoroughly with the latex formula.

After allow drying for around 24 hours but not more than 3 days (as it becomes more difficult to pull away losing some of its elasticity

Remove the poultice vulcanising film by carefully pulling it off (e.g. from the top left towards the bottom right), keeping tensile force as constant as possible.

When poultice stone and masonry cleaner Type I the surfaces do not need to be washed off afterward.

Surfaces treated with the activated Types II, III and V is to be lightly cleaned after the vulcanised process

§  With a sponge dampened with just a little clear water, starting at the highest point. If necessary, a soft to medium-hard nylon brush can be used for somewhat more intensive cleaning.

§  Use as little water as possible.

Notes- Only use trained registered users to carry out poultice vulcanised type cleaning or seek an introduction to working with poultice cleaner before work is started.

§  The specific mixing ratios (for Types II, III and V) must be strictly observed.

§  The selection of the type of poultice brick cleaner to be used depends on the condition of the substrate, type and intensity of soil and desired clean-ing result. Before working with airless equipment (e.g. made by Wagner), please get in touch with us.

§  Do not use on hot substrates.

§  Tools

§  Brush, lambskin roller, filling knife and smoothing trowel

We recommend the use of stainless steel or plastic tools.
